Why We Built NodePoint
Running a business in East Africa comes with unique challenges that global software simply doesn't address. Unreliable internet, mobile money as the primary payment method, multi-currency operations, and the need for tools that work in Swahili-speaking markets — these are not edge cases, they're the norm.
NodePoint was born from firsthand experience. After watching shop owners in Nairobi struggle with paper-based systems and importing software that crashed during power outages, we knew there had to be a better way.
Built Offline-First
Unlike cloud-only solutions, NodePoint is a Progressive Web App (PWA) that works 100% offline. Every transaction, every inventory update, every booking — all happen locally on your device. When your internet comes back, changes sync automatically to the cloud.
This means your business keeps running during internet outages, power cuts, or when you're in a remote location with no connectivity.
Four Modules, One Platform
NodePoint isn't a one-size-fits-all tool. We've built four specialized modules, each designed for a specific industry:
- Retail POS — Lightning-fast checkout with barcode scanning, inventory tracking, receipt printing, and M-Pesa integration
- Safari Bookings — Guest manifests, vehicle and guide assignment, booking confirmations, and payment tracking
- Hotel Management — Room management, check-in/out, housekeeping tracking, and room service orders
- Restaurant & KDS — Table management, kitchen display system, menu management, and order tracking
M-Pesa at the Core
Mobile money isn't an afterthought — it's built into every transaction. Accept payments via STK Push, track M-Pesa confirmations, and reconcile your mobile money with your sales automatically.
What's Next
We're expanding to more East African countries, adding multi-branch support, and building deeper integrations with local payment providers. NodePoint is just getting started.
